Nikon camera Err error message MY VERY STRANGE FIX

What I did to fix an "Err" error on my Nikon D70s. IMPORTANT: let me clarify what I meant by "push down" on the shutter. I should have been clearer. You use your finger [VERY GENTLY] on the the "arm" stated at approx 9:32 and push (pull) down toward the bottom of the camera. That actually starts to open the shutter. Only go down very little, enough to see the sensor. Make sure to turn the camera off and hold the mirror up by your other hand. DON'T PUSH DOWN ONTO THE CAMERA'S SENSOR. AGAIN, do at your own risk. Do all other checks first. Mine works great again. Haven't a clue why this happened?
