Brandon Moreno became the first
Mexican-born UFC flyweight champion by defeating Deiveson Figueiredo at UFC
263. Wait. I know what you are thinking, Henry Cejudo and Cain Velasquez are
Mexican-Americans who were born in the United States. Brandon Moreno is the
first champion Born in Mexico. His hometown of Tijuana tuned in to the fight and
celebrated his victory. Considering he was cut out from the UFC before and made an outstanding turn around.

Figueiredo faced Moreno for the first time at UFC 256, and their fight was not only
the most exciting of the night, but also one of the best of 2020. Compared to the
rematch from Saturday, Moreno's stunning submission finish made the moment
even more special.
