First day on the most brutal US hiking trail | #hiking #cdt #newmexico #brutal

This is what the first day looks like on the most brutal trail in the US.
The start is in New Mexico, on the border with Mexico. It is a desert region and there is no water, no shade, no trees. Moreover, during the first 6 days of the trail, I encountered only 12 trees.
So the heat is a big problem from the start. I supplied myself with water at the water caches that is left for hikers by the volunteers of the CDTA association.

The amount of dust is unimaginable. This causes a lot of blisters, even on experienced feet, so blisters should be drained frequently.
In order to cool down I had to resort to very creative ideas.
So there is no stopping. Just hike and for the first day, make it to at least the first water cache, which is 14 miles from the border.
You guessed it, the name of the trail is the Continental Divide Trail!
