Tirana Albania Tour P13

The second-largest square in Tirana, Albania, is called Mother Teresa Square (Albanian: Sheshi Nënë Tereza). It bears the name of Mother Teresa, an Indian Roman Catholic nun, missionary, and Nobel Peace Prize winner who was born in Albania.
Designed by Italian architect Gherardo Bosio, the square was constructed in the Rationalist style alongside the main Boulevard between 1939 and 1941, when Italy occupied Albania. In honor of Italy's Victor Emmanuel III, the square was initially built as Victor Emmanuel III Square.
Important buildings are situated on this square, which is on the south end of Dëshmorët e Kombit Boulevard.
