Here is another sermon of Spurgeon's with a lovely introduction; as Spurgeon describes the land of Israel. [For beautiful introductions, see 'David's Dying Prayer' 1857 and The King's Highway opened...: 1860].
Note that Spurgeon was absolutely persuaded that the land of promise would again become fertile ((as it has since 1948).
The preacher describes the best approach to spiritual Revival: earnest prayer, labour and eager expectation.
