📌 About the Video
The Service Selection Board (SSB), Air Force Selection Board (AFSB), and Naval Selection Board (NSB) follow a rigorous, scientifically designed 5-day evaluation process to assess a candidate's Officer-Like Qualities (OLQs). This video provides a comprehensive, day-by-day breakdown of exactly what happens behind the gates of the selection centers.
From the high-pressure screening tests on Day 1 to the final judgment in the boardroom, we cover every test that determines whether you get recommended, screened out, or conference out.
📅 The 5-Day Structure at a Glance
Day 0: Reporting & Documentation: Candidates arrive at the selection centre, complete verification, and receive their chest numbers.
Day 1: Stage-1 Screening (Make or Break): * OIR (Officers Intelligence Rating): Verbal and non-verbal reasoning tests.
PP&DT (Picture Perception & Description Test): Writing a story based on a hazy image, followed by individual narration and a group discussion.
Note: Candidates who do not qualify are Screened-Out on this day.
Day 2: Psychological Testing: A series of written pen-and-paper tests including the Thematic Apperception Test (TAT), Word Association Test (WAT), Situation Reaction Test (SRT), and Self-Description (SD).
Day 3 & 4: GTO Tasks & Personal Interviews: The Ground Officer's Tasks (GTO) include group discussions, progressive group obstacles, command tasks, and the lecturette.
Simultaneously, the Personal Interview (PI) is conducted by the Interviewing Officer to assess your real-life experiences based on your PIQ form.
Day 5: The Final Conference: Every assessor meets to discuss your performance. You face the entire board for a final, brief interaction. Following this, the results are announced, and unsuccessful candidates are Conference-Out.
