47801/551/774 1992-2001

A brief overview of what I will always remember as 47551 , with workings in 1992/1993 and 2001. Seen in January 1992 at Padd and Reading as 47801 when allocated to OC for NSE. It is then viewed departing Axminster as 551 , reflecting its loss of "twin tank" status in the May of 92. The same week it is then seen from the train tucked inside 47526 on a Plymouth Waterloo working leaving Exeter. . By the July it had transferred away to Crewe as a Parcels loco and is next seen departing Stockport for Liverpool on a Sunday drag. By early 1993 it had gone through the RES 47 overhaul program and emerged in RES livery with the loss of its skirts . It is seen ex works at Preston behind 47463 coming off a "drag" due to overhead damage in early 1993 . In the April of 93 its on the S&C during booked drags, noted light engine at Kirkby Stephen and then heading North at Garsdale over Dandry Mire viaduct . Fast forward to 2001 and the twilight of its career as 47774 , it is seen at Preston on a Sunday drag and then Prestatyn heading for Holyhead.
