President Rodrigo Roa Duterte participates in the open forum of the Plenary Session during the 16th Annual Meeting of the Valdai Discussion Club at the Polyana 1389 Hotel in Sochi, Russian Federation on October 3, 2019.
The Philippine Chief Executive is one of the invited world leaders to the forum together with the Presidents of Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan, and the King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. President Vladimir Putin of the Russian Federation is also in attendance as the leader of the host nation.
The open forum of the Plenary Session followed the messages delivered by the world leaders on the theme, ‘The World Order Seen from the East’.
This is the first time that a Philippine President has been invited by the Valdai Discussion Club to participate in its annual forum.
