SkyTrain EVERGREEN Line | 4K Riding Vancouver Transit Millennium Extension: Burnaby to Coquitlam

The Evergreen Extension is an extension of the Millennium Line from Lougheed Town Centre to Lafarge Lake–Douglas. During planning and construction, the Evergreen Extension was known as the Evergreen Line. Originally, the Evergreen Line was to be its own line, but the name was dropped and became part of the Millennium Line instead.

The line travels along an elevated guideway for most its route, with some portions tunnelled and at-grade.

Departing from Lougheed Town Centre (with trains starting from VCC–Clark), the line curves onto North Road east of Lougheed Town Centre Station. North of Lougheed Town Centre, trains travel on the left instead of on the right to compensate for the design of the station. The trains switch back directly south of Burquitlam Station. The line then curves over Clarke Road and into the tunnel travelling underneath Snake Hill. The tunnel is the longest on the system.

Leaving the tunnel, trains run perpendicular to Barnet Highway before running parallel to the CP Rail right-of-way in Port Moody at-grade. The line then bends under St. Johns Street into Inlet Centre Station. Leaving Inlet Centre, the line continues to travel at-grade and then passes the Coquitlam Maintenance Centre before going elevated again west of Coquitlam Central Station. Departing Coquitlam Central, the line curves over the bus loop and parallels Pinetree Way to the terminus station of Lafarge Lake–Douglas.
