Why did General Grievous hate the Jedi and the Republic so much?
The cyborg general was not always an evil Jedi hunter. As we discussed in a previous video, Grievous was in fact revered as a god on his home planet. Grievous and his wife Kamar had spent many years repelling the insectoid huk slavers from their homeworld of Kalee. After the death of his wife, Gievous used his anger to lead his people to defeat the Huk, seeking to end the Huks invasions by striking their homeworld. However, through lies and corruption, the Huk convinced the Republic that the Kalee were the aggressors and The Jedi were sent to put down Grievouses campaign. Grievous hated the Jedis' arrogance and their ability to use the force and was eventually defeated. The Republic enforced heavy embargos and fines on kaleesh and many hundreds of thousands perished in famine even as the Huk continued to attack them while the Republic and Jedi did nothing to stop them. This ignited Grievouses hatred for the republic that would eventually lead to his rise as the supreme commander of
the sepratist Forces.
