Meet JP - the Winter Caretaker at LeConte Lodge

John Paul Krol is the winter caretaker at LeConte Lodge that sits high up on the 6500 foot Mt LeConte, the third highest peak in Great Smoky Mountains National Park. While many are comfy in the valley's during winter, JP braves below 0 temperatures and snowy conditions to maintain the lodge during winter. The lodge is closed to visitors throughout Winter and opens in early April.
