Annual Barnacle Party (For The Salmon) at the Ballard Locks

Each year, Army Corps Employees volunteer to scrape of barnacles in the tunnels. This helps minimize damage to the migrating Salmon Smolt that pass through the Locks in the Spring. The scraping is done in the winter during annual maintenance the large locks, which are emptied at the time. (Pumpout).
