I always have a problem with the time between Christmas and spring. Long grey, dull, mucky days with little light and colour? I had arranged to accompany a friend painting, even though I had little motivation. Unfortunately she had overslept when I arrived, but the sun was shining and my materials in the car, so I decided to find a place to continue. I came across this lovely sunlit area of trees and leaves in front of Worlaby church and decided to let loose in a lively session to try and make full use of my limited time. Keeping loose and working from darks up to lights, fat on lean, a la prima.
