The "Feast or Famine" Cycle in the Voiceover Industry

In the voiceover industry, you will hear this a lot amongst voiceover artists alike: "Feast or famine".

Am I saying that voiceover is unstable?

Yes and no.

If you don't know the techniques to help keep your business afloat amidst the drought. Also, if you just expect that things will get going one way or another, that also spells "doom" for your tenure in the business.

Having this cycle is natural and part of it all.

My best piece of advice is to always "keep swimming" (in terms of uptraining, investing in your equipment, marketing yourself by being more present online, reaching out to potential clients regardless if they need your services or not, et al).
