Every Second Counts in a Home Fire—Practice Your Escape Plan

In a typical home fire, you may have as little as one to two minutes to escape safely from the time the smoke alarm sounds. There are several things you can do to help keep your family safe from a home fire.

In this animated game, the residents earn points for having the right safety precautions and lose points when they make the wrong choices.

Make sure you have interconnected and working smoke alarms on every level of the home, and in the sleeping areas. Design and practice your home escape plan. Check the doorknobs for heat and crawl low under smoke. Never go back inside a burning structure.

This video is not intended for children. Adults have an important role in reinforcing safety messages for children.
