Tranquil Lake Step by Step Acrylic Painting on Canvas for Beginners

Let's get our zen on! We're going to paint a lotus flower and bamboo in a monochromatic lake scene. Take your time, get into the zen mood, and have fun!

I’m painting on a 12x16-inch stretched canvas, but you can paint on any type and size of canvas you like.

I used:
• A 1-inch flat brush
• A 1/2-inch flat brush
• #8 bright
• 1/2-inch angle
• #2 round
• #6 round

I’m using Liquitex Basics acrylic paint in the following colors:
• Titanium White
• Ultramarine Blue (to make a chromatic black)
• Cadmium Red Light (Hue) (to make a chromatic black)
• Quinacridone Magenta
• Cadmium Yellow Deep (Hue)
• Liquitex Matte Medium (optional, but SO helpful!)
But you can use any colors you like.
