50 Gun Salute to the Nation by The Old Guard's Presidential Salute Battery

The annual Independence Day (2011) 50 Gun Salute to the Nation by the United States Army's elite Presidential Salute Battery of the 3rd U.S. Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard) at Fort Myer, VA. The "guns" are WWII vintage M5 3-inch anti-tank (field) guns (not cannon) firing 75mm blank cartridges containing 1.5 lbs of black powder. The Unit's motto (from my day): "Seldom seen but always heard." The gun closest to the camera is a back-up gun that fires on command only when another misfires - note the rare occurrance in this video.
