High-flying Islamabad United take on Multan Sultans in one of the most-awaited clashes of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025. Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium will be the host for the 7th match of the season on Wednesday (April 16).

Defending champions have begun their title defense on an ideal note, winning both of their matches single-handedly. They defeated Lahore Qalandars by 8 wickets in the curtain-raiser before brushing aside Peshawar Zalmi by a record margin of 102 runs.

Courtesy of Sahibzada Farhan's fourth T20 hundred this year, the United posted a mammoth 243/5 in 20 overs. After losing Andries Gous for a duck, Farhan went berserk, while Colin Munro, Agha Salman, Azam Khan, Jason Holder and Ben Dwarshuis chipped in with quickfire knocks to help the Shadab Khan-led side to a hefty total.

Filled with a perfectly balanced bowling attack, Islamabad United were all over the Babar Azam-led side and knocked it over for just 141. Imad Wasim was the pick of the bowlers and picked up three wickets. Shadab and Dwarshuis bagged two each, while Naseem Shah, Holder and Saad Masood contributed with a wicket each in the Zalmi's downfall.

There was very little chance that Multan Sultans could have lost their season opener after pummeling a massive 234/3 in 20 overs, but their bowling department didn't close out the game for the Mohammad Rizwan-led side.
