Bel Canto survived well into the 20th century with the great Giuseppe de Luca (1876-1950). It is hard to imagine a more immaculately produced voice, better phrasing or more effortless style. Possibly the smoothest rendition ever of this famous aria. The power and range are there when necessary, but elegance is never for an instant sacrificed on their behalf.
