I’ve recently talked about the Create an Animation feature in one of my tutorials and thought to myself “why have you forgotten this exists?” so it was high time I played with some advanced animations in Canva... stay tuned, more coming 🤩

Here’s what I use most often:
💫 Old TV from the Featured tab to add a vintage glitch effect.
💫 Brush, Ink & Spray Paint from the Reveal tab to make elements appear like they’re painted on.
💫 Blur & Succession from General for a super clean way to bring in multiple graphics at once.
💫 Add-ons (especially a little wiggle!) for a bit more personality.

When I want something special, I’ll draw a motion path myself with Create an Animation. Or, if I’m not in the mood, I hit Magic Animate and Canva animates the whole thing beautifully in one click.

I love using animations for my long and short form content (like video intros, Reels like this one and even carousels to bring more life to them). They keep your audience engaged long enough to actually absorb what you’re sharing. And that matters when you’re a small business owner or creator trying to grow.
