Mamie's Dream - 360 Short Documentary

Plan International UK produced an integrated campaign ‘Because I am a Girl’ that would help the charity show the tangible impact they are achieving for girls and focus on addressing stereotypes as one of the root causes of violence against girls. The VR film features the story of Mamie, a 22-year-old girl from Sierra Leone who, despite many obstacles, has fought to make her dream of being financially independent and becoming one of very few female teachers in her community a reality. Using VR, the viewer steps into Mamie’s life and experiences what it means to be a girl in Sierra Leone and deal with the issues that affect girls on a daily basis – such as FGM, teenage pregnancy, discrimination and being refused an education.
