COVID VACCINE vlog, dose 1 | life of a doctor on NIGHT FLOAT | intern year

Another week of night float and I received my first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine! Sharing my honest experience before and after. Will update y'all with a part two when I get my second dose, and will go more in depth on the science behind it in the follow-up video, so keep a look-out!

As a resident physician, receiving this vaccine meant the world to me and my peers. Being in the first tier is a privilege I don't take for granted. Getting this vaccine is not only about protecting yourself, but also about protecting others via herd immunity. Please remember every body is different, and our experiences are not the same. Most common side effects include arm soreness, fatigue, fever, headache, and myalgias (muscle aches) - all side effects that resolve within 24-48 hours, and are mild in comparison to the acute AND chronic effects of a COVID-19 infection (including damage to the lungs, heart, blood vessels, brain, and more, not to mention mortality). COVID-19 has devastated the world in more ways than one, here's to a brighter future where we might see the end of quarantine and a return to human connection.
