🍯 Gulab Jamun Recipe
Ingredients:
•Milk Powder– 1 cup (grated)
Maida (all-purpose flour) – 2 tbsp
Baking soda – 1 pinch
Milk – 2 tbsp (or as needed for kneading)
Ghee / Oil – for deep frying
For Sugar Syrup:
Sugar – 2 cups
Water – 2 cups
Cardamom – 3–4 (crushed)
Rose water / Kewra essence – ½ tsp (optional)
Method:
Prepare Sugar Syrup
In a pan, add sugar and water.
Cook until sugar dissolves completely.
Add crushed cardamom and simmer for 5–7 minutes.
Add rose water/kewra essence, keep syrup warm.
Prepare Dough
In a bowl, mix grated khoya, maida, and baking soda.
Add milk little by little and knead into a soft, smooth dough.
Rest for 10 minutes.
Make Balls
Grease hands and make small crack-free balls from the dough.
Make sure there are no cracks (otherwise jamuns may break while frying).
Frying
Heat ghee/oil on low-medium flame.
Gently drop the balls and fry until golden brown (stir continuously for even color).
Soaking in Syrup
Remove fried jamuns and immediately put them in warm sugar syrup.
Let them soak for at least 2 hours before serving.
