It's Now Clear Why Hollywood Dumped Elizabeth Berkley

Elizabeth Berkley is best remembered for playing Jessie Spano on the hit '90s teen sitcom Saved by the Bell. The role made her one of the most recognizable teen idols of the decade, which led to major feature film roles later in her career.

After the success of Saved by the Bell, Berkley was cast in Paul Verhoeven’s Showgirls, which was panned by critics, even though it's something of a cult classic today. The film's failure was hard to bounce back from, and it unfortunately earned her Golden Raspberry Awards for Worst Actress and Worst New Star.
