Mel Gibson Accidentally Dislocated Frank Grillo's Jaw In Boss Level
Did you know these Fun Facts about Boss Level?
1. During an action scene, Mel Gibson accidentally hit Frank Grillo in the face, dislocating his jaw. Grillo didn't let on as he didn't want to slow up the filmmaking process. 8 hours later, a medic was able to reset his jaw.
2. Joe Carnahan had been trying to make this movie for years. It was originally called "Continue" and was written in 2010. Carnahan rewrote the script and announced in 2012 that he would direct it for 20th Century Fox, but they decided not to move forward with it, reportedly disagreeing with Grillo being the star. Carnahan later posted the screen tests on Twitter.
3. The scene in the Chinese restaurant, when Roy takes joy in watching a waiter drop a tray of dishes, is a nod to Groundhog Day, whose premise of reliving the same day over and over served as the foundation for dozens of movies to replicate that same format.
