DIY project: converting a storage container into a soundproof generator box for my WEN 6800 Dual Fuel Generator. In this video, I walk through the build process, including planning the enclosure, cutting ventilation openings, adding sound-dampening material, improving airflow, and setting up the generator so it can run more quietly while still staying accessible.
This setup is designed to help reduce generator noise during backup power use, camping, RV setups, workshops, and emergency power situations.
⚠️ Important safety note: Generator enclosures must have proper ventilation, heat management, and exhaust routing. Never run a generator in an enclosed or poorly ventilated space. Carbon monoxide is deadly. Always follow the manufacturer’s safety instructions.
