Restoration of HUGE Antique Fire Bell

Antique Fire Bell Restoration and sound test. This time I do a full recovery on this beauty.

The fire bell is from GENT’S of Leicester in England and the specifications is: Gents Tangent BELL FIG.P 145 200-250V. If you know more about this alarm please leave a comment of with your knowledge – thanks!

The electricity was working very well, so luckily, I just had to sold 1 wire. I was afraid that the coil was burned and did not work. But everything was fine.

I removed all the old painting with paint remover and did some light brushing and sanding. The color ended up being black half matte to the base and signal red to the harness.

The bell was very rusty, and the rust was deep, so I had to do some serious metal polishing to do a complete rust removal. It took me one full day to grind and polish the huge bell. Unfortunately, there was a few deeper scratches that I couldn’t remove. Sorry.
