I Tested the FP2 Presence Sensor Fall Detection and It’s Not What I Expected

I wanted to focus this review specifically on the fall detection feature of the FP2 presence sensor https://geni.us/AqaraFallDetection (Amazon Affiliate link) because elderly safety was my main reason for buying it, but after testing it thoroughly I realized the biggest limitation is the six-foot detection range, which makes it impractical for real-world fall protection unless someone falls in the exact same spot every time. While it does work reasonably well within that range and doesn’t trigger from my small dogs, accuracy drops near the edge and placement becomes a major issue since it must be plugged in and isn’t truly water-safe. Between the limited range, strict placement requirements, wired power, and high price, I personally can’t recommend this for fall detection unless you have a very specific use case within a fixed six-foot area.
