Tito Schipa - La Cumparsita (1930)

The Legendry Italian Tenor, Tito Schipa (1888.12.27 -- 1965.12.16) Sings a famous Tango tune, "La Cumparsita" for Victor in 1930. Orchestra accompanied by Orquestra Tipica del Argentina.

Schipa sings this Tango tune with his own musical skill, the Bel Canto(tenore leggero). Somewhat unusual crossover, but the result is very enjoyable.

This is the only one Argentine 78rpm pressing which I have in my collection - I bought this from eBay.

I also have a Japanese pressing from my grandfather's collection, but that copy was so worn out and the sound quality is extremely poor.

Played on my Victrola with Fidelitone Needle & Orthophonic Soundbox. Very fine sound quality. (No Surface Noise or scratches....)
