A new poll from The Japan Times found that 80% of residents are against the games taking place, as roughly 100,000 athletes, staff members, officials, and journalists are expected to enter the country within the coming weeks. The IOC has not made vaccines mandatory, though they will be overseeing frequent testing of athletes throughout the games.
