Ursula von der Leyen sidelined to sofa at diplomatic summit

Ursula von der Leyen was visibly taken aback when she was left without a seat at a high-level meeting with Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

The European Commission president was stunned to find herself regulated to the sofa during discussions with Mr Erdogan and her colleague Charles Michel, the president of the European Council on Tuesday.
