Newspaper House Melbourne Architecture

Did you know 247 Collins Street is a heritage listed building? That means it is legally protected from development because it is “significant to the history… of Victoria.” The Discover English building was built in 1884 and used to be a newspaper publishing house. There is a spectacular mural on the front wall from 1932 with a Shakespeare quote across the top - when you’re next coming to school, cross the road and look back at the building. It’s truly beautiful. But it’s also extremely old!
