We took the Gimbal Walk TV cameras to Torquay in Devon on the English Riviera area of the South Coast of England. This popular holiday tourist destination is popular for it's beach, the seafront and the great hotels. Torquay also has a fantastic range of seafront bars and restaurants, pubs and amusement arcades although it retains all the traditional seaside atmosphere you would want and expect.

Known for beaches such as Babbacombe and cliffside Oddicombe, the Torquay coastline is nicknamed the English Riviera. The fantastic Torquay Harbour near the town centre offers shops, cafes and a brilliant marina that you can wander round and enjoy. Brixham and Paignton area close by in the Torbay area too if you fancy catching the short ferry ride across for a day there too!

Torre Abbey, a monastery founded in Torquay in 1196, has fantastic art galleries and extensive gardens.

Along the seafront you will find the Pavilion Theatre, the Princess Theatre, Princess Gardens and the Torquay English Riviera Wheel which is a big wheel popular with holidaymakers.
