Fossil Fuels Peaked in 2019 | Bent Erik Bakken | TEDxCarbonTracker

A drop in energy demand due to Covid-19 has bought forward the fossil fuel peak to 2019 says Professor Bent Erik Bakken, a Senior Principal Specialist at DNV GL and Chief Analyst for DNV GL’s Energy Transition Outlook.

Bent Erik’s work explores the interfaces within and between the green energy transition and energy-dependent organizations. He is an expert on designing models of complex systems and using them for interactive simulations to drive successful strategic transformations in various societal sectors.

Professor Bent Erik Bakken is the Chief Analyst of DNV GL’s Energy Transition Outlook. With almost 40 years’ experience, mainly in energy and security research, his award-winning work concentrates on behavioral simulation modelling of complex systems. He holds a Ph D from MIT in Policy Sciences. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
