COVID-19 and the Return to Work: How Can US Employers Avoid Being Part of the Next Litigation Wave?

As we enter a new phase of the pandemic in the United States, employers are faced with the challenge of bringing employees back to the workplace in a safe and productive way. Everyone wants to get it right, but the situation seems to change on a daily basis. There are many potential pitfalls, and there have been predictions of a new wave of litigation against employers who fall short in their return to work planning.

In this webinar, Dechert partners Nicolle Jacoby, Hayden Coleman and Thomas Johnson II discuss how to navigate the return to work challenges and what employers should be prepared to address about potential employment and tort claims.

The discussion also includes information on discrimination and accommodation issues as well as the recent updated EEOC guidance, leave issues under the Families First Coronavirus Response Act, workers compensation issues, and the potential tort claims that employers with an unsafe work environment may face including wrongful death, public nuisance and other claims.
