MAKING A 'STONED' WEED LEAF ASHTRAY. RESIN DIY.

Hi all and todays video is a weed leaf /maple leaf ashtray. I really like this mold, it could be a maple leaf or a weed leaf. I have lots of ideas for ways to decorate it and here's my first try. The insert is made with a cellophane bag cut up and sticky taped onto printer paper. I ran it through an inkject printer then covered the ink with sticky tape to seal it. I added a few stones to the edges and the glass shards add another interesting element to it. I used transparent resin dye so that the text and pic show through. I used a casting resin which takes 2 days to cure. If you are making one it's worth keeping an eye on the insert until it thickens. It does float around in the resin and needs a little push back down for the first few hours. I think it came out nice and it's almost too nice to actually use.
As always I have sped up the footage wherever I could to keep the video short. I hope you enjoy watching and give me a like.
