Day Out of the Shelter for Bradley the Ex Racing Greyhound

Today was Bradley’s big day out at the farm and he was ready and keen to get straight into it!

Bradley is 2 years old and an ex racing greyhound. He is a big gentle giant. He’s a quiet boy, reserved in nature and considerate. He’s gentle on the lead and doesn’t need much training in manners.

A typical greyhound, Bradley had bursts of powerful and fast zoomies followed by naps and basking on a grassy patch in the sun.

He’d love a comfy spot on your couch to watch movies all day after a short run to the corner store.

Where Bradley really got excited was lure coursing. This game and the machine we use, was made for doggies like Bradley to give them the fast paced sprint they so enjoy. To be honest, we were curious to see how much he would enjoy it and of course how fast this seemingly big boy could actually run.

Well. We found it hard to keep the camera on him he was just SO fast off the mark. But boy did he enjoy it. He enjoyed it so much he was begging us for more turns, just like some other dog we know 🤔

These days at the farm are all about the dog, so we gave Bradley exactly what he wanted. Another sprint and a nap. Another sprint and a nap.

At the end of the day this quiet, reserved and gentle boy was very content and appreciative. There were many times he would turn back and nuzzle in, in his own way saying thank you for today.

Bradley has been moved to Greyhound Rescue but he still needs to find his forever home. He deserves a very loving home to retire to and live out his days on the couch, basking in the sunshine and entertaining you with some super excited and fast zoomies. For those that may not have seen previous videos and not know the back story. This week and next, we will be taking shelter dogs out for a day at the farm. We, the farm are a dog day care that has been closed temporarily due to lockdown. The shelter these dogs are at, is closing down and only has 5 weeks left to find them their forever home or a suitable ‘no kill’ rescue organisation that will take them on. We hope that these days out at the farm, will not only give them a great day away from their kennels, but show them in their true light and give them the chance to show their inner beauty. Plus we have a big awesome community of followers that would love nothing more than to share these videos in the hope that together, we can find these dogs loving forever homes.
