Seven years later
My finger holds the imprint of your ring
Every line holds a memory
You and I
The songs we used to sing

But now the sky is overcast
And the streets are grey
A daytime moon hangs pale and cold
Sometimes it feels like all the stories have been told

But this song’s not over just yet
Stars and moons rise and set
Then rise again
We shall have epilogue
After epilogue

It’s a simple life
On the face if it
Though you and I have both let ourselves go a bit
Thicker and older
As the bitter winds got colder

But I saw the laughter of life in your eyes
As you handed me a plate to be dried
With you sometimes such simple things
Keep me warm inside

And this song’s not over just yet
Stars and moons rise and set
Then rise again
We shall have epilogue
After epilogue

I am running empty
Frightened by the demons that still tempt me
Struggling with the jokers
Juggling in my mind

But I know I’m not a bad man
I know because I see me in you
You reject the dark
You reflect the light
In you I see the good in me
In you I see the world in me

And this song’s not over just yet
Stars and moons rise and set
Then rise again
We shall have epilogue
After epilogue
