US Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem issues $10,000 bonus cheques to TSA agents

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem has handed out bonus cheques to Transportation Security Administration (TSA) agents who worked through the 43-day US government shutdown. Transportation Security Officers and TSA agents "who served with exemplary service" will receive a $10,000 bonuses in addition to backpay to help them get back on their feet, Noem said on Thursday. "Americans can be proud of TSA workers across the country who continued to serve with excellence throughout the shutdown—many going to great lengths to protect our country, care for their fellow Americans, and keep our nation moving. President Trump and I are giving a $10,000 bonus to exemplary TSA officers across our nation who went above and beyond their performance," Noem said.
