Big- सबसे बड़ा Project शुरू - Kaveri Engine flying Testbed getting Ready

India is taking a major leap towards aerospace self-reliance by converting two Su-30MKI fighter jets into flying testbeds for indigenous jet engine development. Led by DRDO’s Gas Turbine Research Establishment (GTRE), this initiative will enable real-time airborne testing of advanced engines like the Kaveri 2.0 and future high-thrust powerplants.

Unlike traditional ground-based testing, these modified Su-30MKIs will carry advanced instrumentation to capture precise performance data under actual flight conditions. One engine will host the experimental setup while the other ensures flight safety — a proven global testbed approach.

This move will significantly speed up engine certification, reduce dependence on foreign testing platforms, and support India’s ambitious programs like the AMCA stealth fighter. With this step, India strengthens its journey towards designing, testing, and producing world-class jet engines entirely within the country.

👉 A game-changing step for India’s defence and aerospace future!
