"You ran from the village because there was so much pressure on your shoulders to join the guild of magic. You had no idea until today that you wielded wind magic, but when you tried to save a friend from being bullied, small, controlled tornados burst from your hands and knocked the bully down. Now everyone is insisting you join the guild, but that's a lifetime commitment. You slow your pace as you get deeper into the snow-covered forest, finally alone. You hear nothing in that unique silence falling snow brings. Nothing but the breeze. You kick the snow as you wend your way through the trees, feeling bitter even at the sound of the wind. Leaning against a sturdy pine tree, you close your eyes and simply listen, your emotions dropping away as you allow yourself to be enveloped by forest sounds. Yes, you can hear them better now: birds chirping, a river somewhere farther off, the odd creak of a branch on a tree. You listen to the wind, trying to drop this new bitterness. Always the wind felt more like a call to you, a call to do more, something that created excitement and possibilities. Why should that be different now? Maybe now is the time to call on that excitement. A life in the guild, using wind magic to protect those who can't protect themselves. It is a good thing, nothing to be afraid of. It is purpose and strength. You open your eyes, feeling alive as the wind whistles past you, brushing your cheeks. You are one with it. You push off the tree and start back toward your village.
