For competitive exams like CSIR-NET, GATE ,TIFR,IIT-JAM or TGT PGT MATH , calculating the characteristic polynomial of a 4×4 matrix is a waste of time. Instead, we use Perron-Frobinious Theorem to quickly isolate the boundaries of the eigenvalues and find the largest real one by inspection. We also touch upon properties like Matrix Trace.
