Kanyon an urban oasis in Istanbul. Turkey’s most distinguished shopping mall. The fabulous new shopping center Kanyon opened in Istanbul (Turkey) May 2006, offering 400,000 square feet of retail space, 26 Tower floors of offices, and 179 luxury residences.

Kanyon Istanbul is fusing a unique approach to shopping, entertainment, and retail in an extraordinary architectural shell. Kanyon features 160 stores, 9 cinema screens, fitness center. Top local and global brands, cafes, and open air performances are set in an atmosphere alive. Kanyon houses trendsetting prestigious brands with the world-famous fashion retailer Harvey Nichols. Apple’s first store in Continental Europe is also located in the new shopping center Kanyon.

Opened in June 2006, Kanyon is a mixed-use project built in downtown Istanbul that brings together 179 residential apartments, a 26 story office block and 37,500 square meters of retail space.
With Kanyon, the aim has been to create a heart-of-the-city that connects the people working, living, and shopping in the region and beyond. Kanyon functions more like an organic part of the urban space rather than a standard mall, office, or residential project.

The designers for Kanyon are the Jerde Partnership (www.jerde.com ), who are the world’s leading ‘experiential’ architectural practice. Their focus on the creation of ‘place’ rather than just a ‘building’ is unique. Their primary concern is how people interact with space, how this energy animates the environment, and how places can have a more intimate meaning in people’s lives beyond the physical space itself. It is a unique blend of design, understanding and directing human behavior, architecture, and urban planning.

Kanyon residences offer a nest at the heart of the action but balance it with our need for tranquility and connection to green and outdoor space. Unlike most other modern residences, Kanyon offers balconies, private terraces and gardens, windows that open to let in fresh air, and 3,500m2 of garden space. Residents at Kanyon will not feel like they are living in a hotel room.
The residences with 21 different styles ranging from 80 m² to 380 m². With interiors designed by Sevil Peach and Brigitte Weber, Kanyon residences are unique, elegant, versatile, and functional.
Spread over 4 levels, in a primarily open-air environment, the retail mix at Kanyon sets the stage for 4 entirely distinct streets, each with its energy and vibe. This innovative positioning allows visitors to connect with brands and makes finding your way around both intuitive and more exciting.
