Darksword Has Gotten Much Better! [Read Description for Update]

This functional reproduction is inspired by a 10th century hilt and designed to fit within the general style of the time. From what I can tell this is the equivalent to a Petersen Type R, and overall fairly similar to a number of original Viking era finds.

Blade thickness: 5.6 mm / 0.22 in at the guard, tapering down to 3.7 mm / 0.14 in near the tip
Weight: 1.18 kg / 2.6 lbs
Point of balance: 13 cm / 5 in from the guard

Blade material: 5160 high carbon spring steel
Hilt material: Cast bronze
Assembly: Full tang, peened

Time period: 10th - 11th century

+ Excellent, well tempered blade steel with a very durable edge
+ Strong construction
+ Beautiful decorations
+ Very good handling

- Details on the cast bronze could be more crisp
- Loose scabbard

[UPDATE: As it turns out the sword they sent me is not the Oslo but an entirely new model. DSA's statement in a forum was that it would release soon but that was back in April 2018. It seems currently the only models available are still the Oslo and Einar. Unfortunately they didn't tell me about that.]
