away from stage sessions: Julia Trintschuk "A. Piazzolla - La Muerte del Angel" @RV
"I am a tango man, but my music makes you think. To those who love tango and those who like good music." – Astor Piazolla
Music that makes you think. The "Great Astor" could hardly have described his music better, because those who expect pure dance music in his compositions will be disappointed. Instead, there is "Tango Nuevo" - music that demands concentrated listening through new timbres, dissonant harmonies and pulsating rhythms. Piazolla himself describes his music as 10% tango, and 90% contemporary music, which at the same time is influenced to a large extent by Bach and his contrapuntal and jazz music. Musical styles that at first glance seem hardly compatible with each other. That it works, however, can be seen in his work "La Muerte del angel" (the death of the angel), a piece of the so-called angel series. Musically, it begins and ends with a fugue, but in the middle section it is fragile, fragile, almost rapturous. A musically complex work, as the guitarist Julia Trintschuk also feels. In her opinion, Piazolla combines harmonies that creates an incredible depth, which makes one feel the pain of longing and desire and the fragility of life and love, as well as the strong and unbreakable power of joy and faith. That is also the reason why she has this passionate, intimate, but also playful and cheeky piece involved in her repertoire. But of course it's still all about tango, so one crucial thing can't be missing: love. So Julia has the picture of a relationship of a deep love between two people full of temperament in her mind when listening to this piece. To her it seems like a flirtatious tie before it unfolds in the beautiful, fragile and loving "armistice" and then goes back to the playful game.
