Automation is a very powerful tool. It allows us to do a repeated task automatically, every time, exactly the same way. This is why product manufactures use robots to build parts to almost everything!
When mixing, we can use automation to create life and movement in our mixes, and automation allows us to write these changes into the song for nearly everything, and it will be the played back the same way every time.
