Salah converted a first-half penalty following a VAR review, before Egypt were reduced to ten men just before the break. Despite sustained pressure in the second half and late VAR drama, the Pharaohs held firm thanks to disciplined defending and key saves.

With two wins from two matches, Egypt become the first team to book a place in the round of 16, keeping their AFCON title ambitions firmly alive.
