Zulu Women Dances | African Tribe

The dances in the Zulu culture are important in the celebrations. The women of this tribe dance provocatively.

In the nineteenth century, they became the most feared fighting force in South Africa. Their territory covered an area of over 20,000 square kilometers.
The Zulus today are still many in number: it is the largest ethnic group in South Africa, with smaller populations in Zimbabwe, Zambia and Mozambique.
One of their most distinctive and well-known characteristics today is the dance which men and women perform separately.
Dancing and singing are very important in the Zulu culture, and they have a specific repertoire for events such as births, weddings or the coronation of a new king.
And when the women perform, the dance takes on a particular beauty.
The Zulu people believe in the existence of a creator god who directly influences the personal lives of people: they invoke their ancestors through incantations, and practice divination, almost always through a female shaman.
