Copenhagen, Baltic Cruise
Explore Copenhagen on a Baltic Cruise. See the famous Tivoli Pleasure Gardens, palaces, churches and canals.
Copenhagen was originally a Viking fishing village which was founded in the 10th century but of course a lot has changed since then!
The historic centre of the city features many of Copenhagen's most popular monuments and attractions. The area known as Frederiksstaden has the four mansions of Amalienborg, the royal residence, and the wide-domed Marble Church at its centre. There are several museums in the area including Thorvaldsen Museum dedicated to the 18th-century sculptor Bertel Thorvaldsen.
One of the most popular attractions here however is Tivoli Gardens. An amusement park and 21-acre landscaped garden with fountains and beautiful flower beds. The park prides itself in the more than 111,000 custom-designed lights that illuminate it at night and the more than 400,000 colourful flowers, including 65,000 tulips. The most popular ride in the park is the Rutschenbanen, a wooden rollercoaster that was built in 1914 and is today one of the world's oldest.
Cruise lines visiting Copenhagen include Cunard, Regent Seven Seas, Princess Cruises, Celebrity Cruises and more.
Other popular Baltic destinations include: Russia, Estonia, Poland, Germany, Sweden, Norway and Finland.
