Never has my investigation team seen, in all our years of service, such a level of violence against a defenseless person.

Yeah. Some cases are truly horrifying. Not because of the complex story or the killer’s creepy, disgusting face, but because they make you realize it can always happen to you.

These are Kiyran Earnshaw and Luke Gaukroger. At the time of the murder, Kiyran had just turned 18, and Luke was 15 years old.

And yet, they took great pleasure in nearly decapitating an innocent man. Then, Luke wrote a rap song about it, proudly announcing his lack of remorse. In fact, both boys would do it again if they would be free right now.

How can two teenagers think like this? What has to go wrong for them to commit a frenzied murder with a samurai sword?
